Instructor training and partnership

Pick the job you actually have

These are three different products. If we send you the wrong page, you will think we hid the price.

  1. Certify my staff. Buy group discount seats, or a group account if you want a token dashboard. That is not instructor training.
  2. Make someone at my organization an instructor. We will train that person only if 20 or more people in the organization will take our PMT provider courses. 19 people: we walk away from training your instructor.
  3. I am already an AHA instructor and I have students. You bring the students. We provide the online CPR, BLS, ACLS, or PALS course and the card. We do not hire you.

What we sell

Pacific Medical Training (PMT) sells PMT-branded CPR, BLS, ACLS, and PALS enrollments. Instructor training is a cost. Instructors are a sales funnel for those enrollments.

We do not:

  • Employ instructors
  • Pay a monthly fee
  • Assign you leftover PMT students
  • Promise a trainer in every ZIP code

In-house instructor training (20 or more people)

This is for a hospital, medical office, or similar group that will put 20 or more of its own people through our provider courses and wants a designated staff member who can sign PMT skills forms.

If you have 19 or fewer people taking our courses, we will not train your instructor. You can still buy provider seats.

The path:

  1. Complete a PMT or AHA provider course
  2. Complete an AHA instructor course at an authorized training center (we do not teach that course ourselves)
  3. Buy your own equipment
  4. Bring your own student who completed the PMT provider course online. We audit them as they perform the in-person course

After that, that person can sign PMT skills forms for people in your organization.

Zoom instructor training we can schedule. On-site in a given ZIP we cannot promise. Tell us headcount, address, dates, and which course. We will see whether we have a partner or we will decline.

Price

There is no catalog SKU for instructor training. We quote after we see volume.

A Zoom instructor seat has been $300 per person. That is not the business. The invoice that matters is the provider enrollments for the 20 or more people.

Already an AHA instructor (bring your own students)

You already hold a current AHA instructor certification in CPR, BLS, ACLS, or PALS. You already have students.

How it works:

  1. Your students complete our online course
  2. You provide the in-person skills verification at a site you arrange
  3. We issue the PMT card after the online exam and the skills form

You recruit. You set the in-person fee. We do not send you students.

If you cannot state a number for average students per month over the last 12 months, we will not onboard you. “Varies” is not a number.

Who this is for

  • Current AHA instructor certification (CPR, BLS, ACLS, or PALS)
  • Active medical license or certification (RN, MD, DO, paramedic, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching emergency cardiovascular care
  • Your own equipment, or access to it
  • Your own professional liability insurance

What partners receive

  • Access to current AHA guidelines-based course materials
  • Skills verification checklists and documentation
  • Student progress reports for hybrid courses
  • Updates when AHA guidelines change

For AHA training centers

If you operate an AHA training center, we can discuss curriculum licensing, white-label options, and bulk course access.

Apply

Use the form that matches the job. Incomplete applications, and applications that put “varies” where we asked for a number, do not get a callback.

In-house instructor (20 or more staff taking PMT courses)

Already an AHA instructor (bring your own students)

Pacific Medical Training has provided emergency cardiovascular care education since 1998.

Frequently asked questions

For the commercial partner path, yes. You need a current AHA instructor certification (CPR, BLS, ACLS, or PALS). For in-house instructor training, you complete a PMT or AHA provider course, then an AHA instructor course at an authorized training center, then we audit one student.

There is no public instructor-course price list. We quote after we see how many people will take PMT provider courses. A Zoom instructor seat has been $300 per person. We do not make money on instructor training. We make money when those people enroll in PMT-branded CPR, BLS, ACLS, or PALS.

You bring your own students. An application that cannot state a numeric average of students per month over the last 12 months will not be onboarded.

We carry insurance for our business operations. Instructors should maintain their own professional liability insurance, as is standard in the industry.

Zoom we can schedule. A local trainer we have to source. Tell us headcount, address, dates, and which course. We will see whether we have a partner or we will decline. We do not have instructors standing by in every ZIP code.

We train an in-house instructor only when 20 or more people in that organization will take our PMT provider courses. If you have 19 or fewer, we will not train your instructor. The path is:
  1. Complete a PMT or AHA provider course
  2. Complete an AHA instructor course at an authorized training center
  3. Buy your own equipment
  4. Bring your own student who completed the PMT provider course online, and we will audit them as they perform the in-person course
After that, you can sign PMT skills forms for people in your organization. Zoom instructor training we can schedule. A trainer in a given ZIP code we cannot promise.

We do not employ you, pay a monthly fee, or send you our leftover students. You bring your own students and set your own prices for the in-person work. We sell them the online course and issue the card.

Yes. Many instructor partners provide skills verification at their own medical facilities, training centers, or offices.

Yes, as long as your existing agreements allow it. Many instructors work with multiple organizations.

That's up to you. Some instructors work with us regularly. Others provide skills verification as needed.
